Our rules
How we tell stories
Nobody should become “content”. These are the rules we follow in every video, photo and page.
- Help first, camera later. Help never depends on a “yes”.
- Consent in two steps: spoken on the day we meet, written after the person has seen the video and the page. Never from someone in crisis.
- The person chooses how much is shown: full name, first name, another name (we say so), no face, voice only. And which subjects stay out.
- Never children who can be recognised. Never IBANs, phone numbers, IDs or addresses.
- Health, the past, papers: they stay out, unless the person asks for them to be in.
- No tricks: no hidden camera, slow motion, sad music, shots from above, or shots of money changing hands.
- The person has the first and the last word in the video. Sokratis asks and listens.
- We only write what we have checked. Never stories that merge several people into one.
- If a story harms the person, we take it down ourselves, without waiting to be asked.
- Honesty about what came after. We never say something went well if it didn’t. If something goes wrong, the person decides whether it is told in public.
