Where does my money go?
Into the non-profit’s account. From there we pay the person’s bill directly (power, rent, a ticket, groceries) and post the receipt on the story’s page and on the Transparency page.
What if the story is already covered?
Whatever is left goes to the next person waiting, and we tell you who.
Does any of it go to running costs?
Yes. From every gift, general or for a story, a part covers the running costs the non-profit cannot do without, such as the accountant, the lawyer and the website, until they are covered. Without them we cannot help anyone. You can see exactly how much on the Transparency page.
Will I get a receipt?
Yes, right away, at the email you give at checkout.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Not yet. We will let you know as soon as it is.
Can I stop a monthly gift?
Yes, whenever you like, from the link in every email we send. No questions asked.
