We have jobs, families and tired evenings, like everyone. Our afternoons and weekends we spend with people the city has forgotten.
Why I started

“When I walk past people who are homeless, I can’t help thinking how lonely they must feel. For four years now I’ve been trying to keep them company: to talk with them, to listen to them, and to be heard by them too. As a friend, one person to another. This year I realised that if I really want to help the person next to me, we need to come together.”

Why we do it
For hope, and for a real fresh start
We do it for two reasons. To give people hope: to show that good still happens, and that one small act can set an example for the next person. And to truly fund a fresh start: whatever someone needs to stand on their own feet again, so that they can find their hope again too.
Why “Hero Story”?
Every story has a hero: the person who, when everything has gone wrong, gets up and tries again. We are not the heroes. We are the ones who ask “what do you need?”. They build their own story, one small act at a time, and everyone who adds their part becomes part of it too. That is how every Hero Story is written.
The person comes first
They speak in their own words, choose what is shown, and have the last word.
Help first, camera later
Help never depends on a video. In many cases we help without ever showing it.
A receipt for every euro
We pay directly, post the receipt, and say what changed.
For everyone
We help regardless of origin, religion, past or papers.

Founder. He meets and keeps in touch with the people, finds jobs through his network in construction, and films the videos.
